Hey there this is Leslie Kolovich!  Great podcast show today!  I had the opportunity to interview former rodeo bucking horse and bull rider, and rodeo announcer Marlon Harris!  His wife Claire joins in the conversation too!  I love this couple!  I met Marlon at the Blue Ridge Sup Celebration where he had just had one lesson on a board, and was trying several at the event.  As you may know announcers tend to gravitate to the person on the mic, and Marlon paid me a visit with a very kind complement.  Coming from a Big Time Rodeo Announcer, I was completely honored.  Marlon talks about his rodeo days competing in 100 rodeos in a season, and what it takes to put your body through that kind of abuse night after night.  He talks about his life now, as he works for Merial Limited, Vet Pharmaceuticals, which he has been in that industry for 29 years.  He continues to be on a roping team that competes regularly.  Since retiring from Rodeo announcing just 4 years ago, he and his wife enjoy many active things in the great outdoors, especially on “toys” that are man powered which keep you healthy.  Claire, his wife joins in the fun as she has been competing in  barrel riding for 20 years or so.  She is a blast to talk with !  You will hear her spirit of adventure and humor in this podcast for sure!

Marlon is part of an event that will be held on October the 13th the 2nd Annual Nera & Alzheimer’s Annual Paddle For A Cure for questions you can email mcbee.dan3@gmail.com  It’s for kayaks and SUP’rs a family event for sure!  Marlon, on his 3rd time on a board did the river SUP paddle in Blue Ridge and that adventure pretty much sealed the deal for him on Stand Up Paddle Boards.  He loved it!  Claire, states however many boards he gets, she gets  new saddles for her horse!  He’s planning on 3 to start off with very soon!
