Heidi Henry & The NYC Marathon Paddle~Sup Radio Show
Hey there this is Leslie Kolovich and I know you will enjoy this podcast interveiw with Heidi Henry. She is a 45 year old mother of 2, former distance runner, and SUP’r. She talks with me about her experience with friend Terri Plunkett in NYC raising money for Autism as they paddled 26.6 miles around Manhattan.
Only 10 women completed this feat, 5 elite paddlers and 5 open paddlers. Rob Rojas, the SUP winner of the race, made the statement on his facebook page that this race was the most physically demanding race he had ever done!
Heidi can attest to this, and talks about the conditions and the infamous “Hell’s Gates” where NYPD was actually plucking people out of the water. Congrats to all those who attempted and all those who finished especially Heidi! She rocks it world! Look for her to do more marathon paddles in the future, but probably not going back to Manhattan unless she is guaranteed a New York calm…
