Hey there this is Leslie Kolovich. Today’s podcast I interview Stuart Robinson who paddled 57.5km (35 miles) across the Georgia Straight in British Columbia completely unassisted, and unaccompanied, last weekend in 7 hours. Stu tells us how he decided to do this crossing, how being prepared to do such a crossing is super important. Stu makes a statement in this interview that I love so much and rings true for just about all instances. He says, “it’s not until you are out of your comfort zone, that kinda magic happens, find your passion”.
Stu is the owner of Compass Adventure Water Sports Centre in Comax BC Canada, is a professional coach, and trainer for many sports. He started paddling in 2006, and was completely hooked on the sport after finishing the elite races in the crazy carnage of the 2009 Battle of The Paddle in California.
Compass Adventure Water Sports hosted Canada’s first ever Sup Surf Race Event in Tofino BC just last summer. Stu also talks about the growth of the sport in Canada, the race series they have and getting more and more youth involved.

Hey there this is Leslie Kolovich. Today’s podcast is so cool, and the word of the day is, SOUL. Geoff McBride joins me in my studio for a great conversation about his journey through life and music. He, as you know was a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” he talks about his experience, stepping out on that stage, in front of a global audience. Geoff is embarking on a new project today, that he calls “Journey to the Soul“. It’s a “Soul”full sound, music that comes from his soul. He describes music as a universal language. People can relate because they are relating to their souls. I’ve had the opportunity to follow Geoff and his career here in South Walton Florida where he resides. He is for sure a local favorite and packs the house where ever he sets up. He now has a worldwide following, and hopes to bring the sound of the world into this new cd. He has partnered up with Trammell Starks for a sound that for sure will bring a new vibration to your spirit. Not only is his music incredible, but so is this man. He has a beautiful, wonderful wife and 3 children that mirror their parents. Geoff is genuine, and I’m proud to be a part of spreading the good word of “Journey to the Soul”
