Join Leslie Kolovich as she talks with 16 year old Sara Brenes, also known as “The Shark Whisperer“.  In this podcast Sara talks about her passion for protecting sharks.  She tells the story of how she first was drawn to doing something to protect these stereotypical “killers”.  She has a special connection to sharks in a way not many have.

This was observed by a Californian on one of their shark tank experiences, thus she was given the name “The Shark Whisperer”.   It is her goal to try to change they way people think about sharks by providing education and information of the true nature of these under water  magnificant creatures. She talks about meeting Dr Guy Harvey, Jim Abernathy and Captain Slate and has seen the movie This Is Your Ocean many many times.  Sara participates in research, and tagging missions with the  RJ Dunlap Marine Conservation Program & University of Miami.

She has traveled around the world and has been in shark tanks putting her upclose and personal with several species of sharks.  She will be participating in the Sup’n Kids Ocean Crest Experience event in Tampa July 20-22 with a booth will all kinds of educational info for all.  This is a great podcast you are sure to be impressed with Sara.  Her passion for sharks and the overall health and well being of our oceans is remarkable.  She truly is a role model for all.
