StandUp Journal Behind The Scene Stories Of The Winter 2011/2012 Photo Annual
Clay Feeter joins Leslie Kolovich to talk about the Stories behind the incredible photos of the 2011/2012 Winter Photo Annual. Clay joins SUP Radio from winter headquarters for the StandUp Journal crew in Santa Cruz California. Clay grew up in Santa Cruz and was so happy to share moments on the water in beautiful Santa Cruz with Joyce his wife who grew up in New Hampshire. Clay and Joyce drove 9 1/2 days from New Hampshire to spend the winter to SUP in Santa Cruz, Capitola Beach. Clay has been getting some work done out there, as this is the Journal’s 5th year in publication and this Spring issue will be their 17th issue.
Clay starts off the stories in Capitola Beach paddling in the kelp beds, sea otters and pelicans. If you have photos of Santa Cruz SUP you can send them to the Journal for a special feature on Santa Cruz up until May 15, 2012. Clay takes us through several shots from big barrel paddling, to a killer wipeout, a double wave hold down on Cloudbreak off Fiji. Then to white water with Slater Trout at the Teva Mountain Games, an incredible GoPro shot from Pompano Florida by Sarah Langdon, a still life of Dan Gavere in his van duck taping his shin guards. We see next a really nice flat water shot from Wrightsville North Carolina, Australian paddlers on a huge huge wave, then Florida’s Chase Kosterlitz paddling next to a giant cruise ship in Miami.
These photos are just a thumbnail of the photos of this issue. The Standup Journal is a coffee table keeper. This is the magazine you will never throw out! The crew at the Journal try to keep the bar raised higher and higher with each issue. They for sure have done it again! Make sure you get one for yourself to see and feel the excitement of this Winter Photo Annual!
